What we do

Since our formation as a nonprofit in 2005, we have provided services to over 4000 individuals, schools, and businesses.

We focus on four major areas that we believe have inter-related benefits to living well and living consciously within Earth’s systems. By doing so, we can proactively create and preserve the rich heritage of this plant that we all share for future generations to come and for all life on our planet.

Healthy Food

Green Fork shifts people from passive food consumers to food citizens who understand that their food choices have a powerful impact on the health of the planet. The team offers workshops and advocates for the community to grow, buy, cook, and eat foods that are locally and organically grown.  Green Fork’s two co-directors actively participate in alliance work through the Healthy Silicon Valley Foodways Committee and the
San Mateo Food Systems Alliance which focuses on making our region’s food systems more sustainable.

Getting Going Growing establishes school garden projects that proactively address the rising trend in child obesity, and offers young students and their teachers an outdoor learning environment that supplements traditional classroom lessons. Since 2000, the team has established and provides support for over 40 school gardens in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Additionally, the project team offers schools consultations, workshops, networking opportunities, and in-kind support in partnership with local landscaping professionals.

Integral Ecology

Exploring a Sense of Place offers community members a deep connection to the natural world where they live through a year-long exploration of the bioregion. By fully utilizing their senses, participants develop new ways and new patterns to view and experience the natural world around us. The program cultivates deep caring and further actions of regenerative living that continue long after the yearlong program ends. Since its inception in 2000, the efforts of the project team has benefited over 1000 participants – many  have become passionate advocates of preserving our natural heritage through their own work and lives. The program has been implemented in several bio-regions throughout the world and the Guide Book is used as part of degree certification programs.

Peninsula Permaculture promotes and teaches regenerative design, renewable energy, and care for local resources that offer viable alternatives to our current reliance on industrial and non-renewable systems. Our project team is at the forefront in regional and worldwide permaculture initiatives including: offering diploma-level course work on intensive permaculture principles and design; creating Earth Action Mentor, the first of its kind web-based mentoring and worldwide permaculture community collaborative that effectively captures best practices in permaculture and regenerative technologies; and playing a leadership role with other renowned Permaculturalists in creating a worldwide Applied Permaculture Design certification program.

Graduates of our programs have gone on to implement holistic land management principles in truly inspiring and Earth-beneficial ways including personal and professional landscaping and land management, and actively advocating regenerative living through their own community service work.

A Walk Through Time
takes us on a five-billion-year journey about life’s five-billion-year evolution.  This awe-inspiring experience, available as a exhibit, book, and online experience, is being presented throughout the world so that organizations and individuals can use it as a meaningful context for identifying and addressing the most critical issues of the future.

Innovative Business

Sustainovation informs and inspires innovators who understand that sustainable practices are essential to business success and the vitality in the world we share.

enneBusiness Solutions provides people with powerful tools for understanding and appreciating diversity by improving relationships and personal effectiveness in organizational environments.

Personal Effectiveness

Enneagram Studies has helped over 1000 people in the San Francisco Bay Area gain powerful tools for understanding and harnessing the strengths and weaknesses inherent in their unique personality and emotional centers.  Through our Enneagram Studies classes and workshops, participants come away with knowledge specific to their personality type that enables them to make significant changes in the way they interact and relate to others.  The breakthrough in recognizing and changing deeply rooted personal behavioral patterns paves the way to richer and more effective relationships with oneself, and with family, friends, and others.
