Peninsula PermacultureOverviewPermaculture design principles are based in the ethic of taking responsibility for our own existence, and they promote community self-sufficiency by offering solutions and alternatives to the current reliance on industrial non-renewable systems of production and distribution. Conexions Peninsula Permaculture: Abundance in Action, brings the concepts of regenerative design, renewable energy, and care for local resources to the forefront of people's actions and awareness by creating opportunities for education and action. As vanguards in permaculture, Peninsula Permaculture has established key programs and initiatives both local and more far reaching. We have a comprehensive array of Permaculture courses including the Permaculture Design Certification course, have installed the first permitted wind turbine in San Mateo County and founded the Peninsula Permaculture Guild. We are collaborating with Gaia University on a diploma in Applied Permaculture Design and are co-founders of EarthActionMentor.org, a community collaborative training hub for documentation of regenerative living skills and practice. Our ProgramsPeninsula Permaculture community initiatives and programs focus on perpetuating regenerative living skills both locally and internationally. Permitting Assistance for Regenerative Technologies - We promote policy change in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties in the areas of regenerative technology. We are creating and documenting local examples that can be replicated globally. Ultimate Land Base - We are working to procure a long-term lease arrangement for our ultimate land base to create a comprehensive permaculture demonstration site in our area where all resources necessary for a community to thrive are included or within close proximity to the site. Workshops - Classes concentrate on regenerative designs skills and include a 2-week Permaculture Design Certification Course and the Waking Waters series. Community InitiativesEarth Action Mentor - A community collaborative dedicated to furthering permaculture principles and practices. Earth Action Training - An independent study curriculum that guides students through an intensive study of how permaculture can be applied to their own backyard, farm or community. Peninsula Permaculture Community Guild - Here guild members define individual visions and goals and offer mentoring in areas where guild members need support. Permaculture vision and practices are documented to provide examples of action in the areas of regenerative design, policy change and community awareness.
