October 16, 2009 – Conexions’ Peninsula Permaculture project has launched Earth Action Mentor, an innovative web-based community collaborative that offers ecologically minded people and permaculture practitioners access to a breadth of expert knowledge, inspiration, and best practices focused on green-living skills and regenerative, holistic land management principles. Charter memberships are now available and provide access to a rich source of content, collaboration and mentoring with a global green community.
Mentoring, direct application, and collaboration with a global community of expertise “Earth Action Mentor is the result of a vision to create a global, virtual mentoring support community and learning center, said Doniga Markegard, founder of Earth Action Mentor and Director of Conexions’ Peninsula Permaculture. Being engaged by action-learning and sharing knowledge with others involved in regenerative practices fosters wide-spread and rapid adoption of Earth-friendly land stewardship practices which is our ultimate goal. Now is the time to take action in our own backyards, farms, and communities”. The subscription-based membership offers members direct access to professionals and deep content knowledge through direct mentoring such as opportunities to engage in guild meetings, independent study, virtual forums, and other activities that are designed to support the participant’s action-based learning. Earth Action Mentor’s focus on direct application gives members the opportunities to apply permaculture tools in areas such as gardening, living on the land, managing water as a resource, and developing case studies that can be shared with the global community. By participating in the community forums, and through interviews and videos, Earth Action Mentor provides inspiration for members to deepen their practice of green-living skills.
Earth Action Mentor is the brain child of Permaculture Design experts including Doniga Markegard, Susan Osofsky, Ethan Roland and others. Key contributors include internationally renowned authors, teachers, and designers including Penny Livingston-Stark, Toby Hemenway, Starhawk, and professionals from Gaia University. Charter memberships available, funding permaculture aid projects Contacts |
